Panama Sole Desert Boot
Panama sole known as the mud shedding out sole. Conceived by Sgt Raymond Dobie of the Panama Mobile Force in early 1944. The designs intention is to shed mud as the flexing of the foot creates pressure on the out sole thereby improving traction. Tested in 1968, the army material command directed the Panama sole to be used on all Tropical Combat Boots. A few years later, the official nomenclature of the boot was changed to as we know it today, “Boots, Hot Weather, Men's”
The Panama boot sole provides excellent wear, and quick simple clean out. The traction is top of the line when using the panama desert boot sole. We offer the panama style in many boots, currently the desert boot with panama sole.
