Includes Kidney Pads (Back Pad) and is ready for use with the Alice Pack with shoulder straps.  Frames typically are only used in cold weather to avoid perspiration build up under the pack and for extremely large or cumbersome loads such as gas cans etc.  These frames are TOUGH, and made of aluminum keeping them light weight.  Paratroopers jumped from planes with these exact frames and packs and they stood up to the abuse.  Frames are typically olive drab or brown in color.  Waist belts and Kidney pads changed slightly throughout their issue.  Older waist belts were metal and utilized a larger more cumbersome attatchement.  The newer waist belts were more easily attatched and crafted of a plastic snap waist attatchement.
